At Seniora Taiping, we believe that active ageing is not just about physical movement — it’s about keeping the mind and soul engaged too. That’s why we’re thrilled to share our latest collaboration with the Perak Modern Art Society, where art meets wellness in a unique and joyful way.

Since February, we’ve been organizing weekly floor calligraphy sessions every Tuesday from 9am to 10am at the scenic Taiping Lake Garden. Participants use sponge brushes dipped in plain water to practice graceful Chinese calligraphy on the pavement — a practice that’s meditative, environmentally friendly, and vanishes naturally as the water dries.

But this past Tuesday, on 6th May 2025, we took it one step further.
We hosted a special calligraphy event where participants had the rare opportunity to use a large brush and actual ink to try their hand at traditional floor calligraphy. The experience was immersive, artistic, and filled with laughter and curiosity from both young and old.

Why Calligraphy?
Calligraphy, especially in this outdoor and social format, aligns beautifully with Seniora’s core concepts of:
Active ageing – encouraging movement, coordination, and posture through brushwork
Aging in community – fostering social bonds and shared experiences
Holistic care – nurturing the emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being of our seniors through meaningful expression
This collaboration is more than just art on the ground — it’s a reminder that creativity has no age limit, and that community spaces can be vibrant places of expression, connection, and joy.

We invite everyone — seniors, families, art lovers, and curious passersby — to join us every Tuesday and be part of this living art movement.
Let’s keep moving, writing, and connecting — one brushstroke at a time!
