On 26 April 2025, Seniora was honored to support the “Let’s Get to Know Dementia” workshop organized by Hospital Pulau Pinang. The session was led by Dr. Teh Ewe Eow, Head and Consultant Geriatric Psychiatrist at the hospital, and brought much-needed awareness to the challenges and care approaches related to dementia.

As part of our ongoing mission to promote dignity and understanding in elder care, the Seniora team attended the workshop to show our support for this meaningful initiative. It was an excellent opportunity to stand in solidarity with fellow healthcare professionals, caregivers, and advocates who are passionate about improving the lives of those affected by dementia.
Key Takeaways from the Workshop:
🧠 Understanding Personalized Care
Dr. Teh emphasized the importance of respecting each individual's needs and routines. Personalized care is about encouraging autonomy, providing the right cues, and creating a familiar and structured environment.
🛠 Non-Drug Therapies for Cognitive Health
Two effective approaches shared were:
Reality Orientation Therapy: Helping individuals stay oriented using visual cues like clocks and calendars.
Reminiscence Therapy: Stimulating memory through familiar objects and past experiences.
📈 Insight into Dementia Progression
The presentation also included valuable insights into how treatments can help slow down disease progression and maintain cognitive function over time. Treatment in Alzheimer's Disease is mainly to slow down the disease progression, cure cannot be expected.

Our Commitment
At Seniora, we believe that raising awareness is just as important as delivering care. By attending and supporting events like this, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting active aging, community support, and dementia-friendly practices in everything we do.
We thank Dr. Teh and the organizing team at Hospital Pulau Pinang for their dedication to educating the public and fostering a more informed, compassionate society.
